Marie-Louise Damien Biography |
Marie-Louise Damien (December 5, 1889 - January, 1978) was a French singer and actress who used the stage name Damia.
Born on in Paris, France, she was a great star of the music hall era of Montparnasse. She was called "the tragic actress of song". Damia died at La Celle-Saint-Cloud, France.
In 1927, she appeared in the film, Napoléon directed by Abel Gance with early silent film stars Antonin Artaud, Philippe Hériat, Annabella, and Suzanne Bianchetti.
Damia died at La Celle-Saint-Cloud, France and is interred in the Cimetière de Pantin in Paris. |
